Anyone here been or is a Combat Engineer, specifically Marines?

And do combat engineers work with the infantry and usually do what they do and once they are called to blow something up, they do that? I'm not quite sure...

all i know about CE's is that they are called grunts w/ explosives, i dont know much about them other than thats there nickname. wish i could help you more.

that they do. any MOS in the USMC can be screened by Recon, from Food Service guys to wingers. but other MOS's have better chances to be selected. it all depends on what Recon needs at the time and how well you perform.

combat engineers

They don't normally be in the front lines, but are close. They clear or lay mine fields, blow up anything, sometimes clear duds (there isn't ever enough EOD) build bridges, fortifications, use heavy equipment. Basically a hard working grunt.
