IRVING, Texas - The Dallas Cowboys cut safety Marcus Coleman on Saturday after he was arrested on a charge of driving while intoxicated. The 32-year-old Coleman was stopped at about 2:40 a.m. for a traffic violation, and there were indications he had been drinking, Irving police said.
Coleman, an 11-year veteran, was taken to jail and then released after posting bond on the charge of DWI, police said.
The Cowboys released Coleman and left for Phoenix on Saturday without him, the team said on its Web site. The Cowboys play the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday. The team has not yet filled his spot on the 53-man roster.
At the beginning of the season, Coleman served a four-game suspension for violating the NFL's substance abuse policy.
