Public released pictures from NATO exercise Cold Response 07 in the North of Norway.

Foreign forces from 15 nations will participate in Cold Response, but Norway has the largest contribution of troops. Each of the other nations contributes with approximately one company which is about 100 soldiers. The foreign forces will be integrated with and led by the Norwegian units.

Belgium, Holland, Portugal, Denmark and Norway will together deliver a force of around 30 fighter jets. These nations normally work together in a European F-16 force called the European Expeditionary Air Wing.

I participated in Adventure Express in 1997 and ... Well I'm getting old...

Man, I love NATO war games. The gear junky in me goes nuts. I see all of that foriegn camo and web gear. Ahhhhh..... I wish I was back in. Oh well, I guess joint law enforcement task forces will have to kill that itch for now.

H&K G3... Yeah! that means that 7.62x51mm is still a main battle rifle claiber for a NATO Force.

Also like the camp pattern.

Looks like Miami Spring Break went to Norway and tries to warm up the troops. Also like the rail for the G3 rifle. Might have to buy me a G3 and a rail system like that. Could always go for another 7.62x51mm NATO battle rifle. Magazines right now are dirt cheap and so are the rifles.....

It still is the main battle rifle but not known for how much longer as several rifles are being considered as replacement of the now rather old G3s (many produced in the 1960s).

My personal experience with the G3 is indeed positive as long as you treat the weapon with firm hand and lots of oil in the wintertime. The moving parts once froze but in bootcamp that was kind of allowed.
