Cockpit connection between Brazil and US

Boeing and AEL (Brazilian's Elbit subsidiary) linked two cockpit simulators, one in Brazil other in US.

In my opinion the most interested country in the Brazil's military build-up is the US. Besides good business opportunities, it may open a breach for the north-american military to deploy all resources now in the SA to others theaters without being at risk of any surprise in the continent. Any thoughts about that matter?
 
I never thought Brazil and the US had very strong ties, Brazil always seemed to be more friendly with France or Israel, even the UK but I guess things change.
