Civil Suit against Donald Rumsfeld allowed to proceed (US Court of Appeals)

Somehow I missed this one:

A US citizen has been allowed to sue Donald Rumsfeld for torture after he was illegally detained in Iraq and tortured for 9 Months in Iraq.

The case stems from 2006, where a ex NAVY-vet named Don Vance working as a private security contractor contacted the FBI about corrupt activities (illegal weapons trading to Iraqi officials -some with militia ties) their employer was involved in. The FBI asked for him to become a undercover informant but his cover was blown and his employer responded by having him illegal incarcerated and tortured at Camp Cropper before being dumped at the airport 7 months later.

The US court of appeals has ruled that Donald Rumsfeld is no longer protected by immunity as Mr. Vance was an American citizen and Rumsfeld immunity doesn't cover him against civil suits by US citizens.

Whats significant is that if Rumsfeld is held liable, he becomes automatically suspectible to criminal charges (war crimes) both within the US and abroad, As do his bosses Cheney and Bush. It also into question the current practices that are being used by the DOD in places abroad.

Incidently there is a second similar suit being brought against Rumsfeld which is also heading court.

That's a criminal offense matter, the difference here is that the court plantiffs are drawing a direct link to Rumsfeld by claiming he personally authorized the torture in the camps.

There have been other complaints against Rumsfeld by non-US citizens, of which he was weasel out of prosecution due to the immunity the Obama Government grants him. But because the 2 plaintiffs are American, his immunity doesn't apply.

In other words, old Donnie f***ed up. He must have assumed he was immune to all prosecutions, his lawyers didnt count on being sued by US detainees.

Plus there is another thing that bothers me. US companies allowed to deal illegal weapons to Iraqi militiamen, the kidnapping, detention and torture of whistle-blowers? Vance says in the interview that the DOD to this day cannot explain the reason why he was held prisoner on a US base.

And Rumsfeld seemed to turn a blind eye to it???
