Milforum Mac Daddy
I will NOT by any gas at CITGO, after reading the below article!!!!!!!!!!!!

. See information about Citgo gas stations below.

U.S. activist Cindy Sheehan (L) meets Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez during his weekly broadcast 'Alo Presidente' in Caracas January 29, 2006.

Venezuela Dictator Vows To Bring Down U.S. Government

The Venezuela government is sole owner of Citgo gasoline company. It was sold to them in the 90's. Since it had been an American Co. for almost a century everyone, except those involved in stocks, thinks it still is.

Venezuela Dictator Hugo Chavez has vowed to bring down the U.S. government. Chavez, president of Venezuela, told a TV audience <http://msnbc.msn.com/id/10704025/> : "Enough of imperialist aggression; we must tell the world: down with the U.S. empire. We have to bury imperialism this century."

The guest on his television program, beamed across Venezuela, was Cindy Sheehan, the antiwar activist. Chavez recently had as his guest Harry Belafonte, who called President Bush "the greatest terrorist in the world."

Chavez is pushing a socialist revolution and has a close alliance with Cuban dictator Fidel Castro.

Regardless of your feelings about the war in Iraq, the issue here is that we have a socialist dictator vowing to bring down the government of the U.S. And he is using our money to achieve his goal!

The Venezuela government, run by dictator Chavez, is the sole owner of Citgo <http://www.citgo.com/AboutCITGO.jsp> gas company.

Sales of products at Citgo stations send money back to Chavez to help him in his vow to bring down our government.

Why should U.S. citizens who love freedom be financing a dictator who has vowed to take down our government?
Very important. Please forward this to your friends and family. Most of them don't know that Citgo is owned by the Venezuela government. Calls for boycotts protesting rocketing gas prices go unheeded in our US of A. People complain but depend on someone else (most always the "government") to do something about it. Well, a united boycott in this case, could bring down a dictatorship. Any ideas out there?

I have checked the facts regarding Citgo ownership and you can read at http://www.citgo.com/AboutCITGO.jsp <http://www.citgo.com/AboutCITGO.jsp>

Holy crap!! And I've been getting gas from them for the last couple of months after starting my job (they have a 7-11 paired with it, and I can't resist Slurpees). Well, back to ARCO and Chevron (across the street from Citgo LOL) for me.

I wonder how he plans to overthrow the US regime? Will he send in the Venezualan army and take America by force?
Maybe we should place Chavez's remark where it belongs, in a fairy tale. I reckon that things like this score well in Venezuela, but I don't take it too seriously.

This is old news, I guess I will never again assume a level of knowledge I previously ascribed my fellow americans.

That all depends on if you followed the news and such at the time this information came to light. It also presumes that people care about the same things you care about. This is the first I have heard of it to be honest.

About the only news I get is from the people I work with and this forum. I do not watch TV or read newspapers or visit news sites online. It generally irritates me to no end seeing and reading of the bias that is inherent in the media. This is why I generally avoid mainstream and get it through avenues I think will give me facts and not biased opinions. If a story piques my interest I will read up on it, if not I decline to waste my time.

I guess my point bruv is that people shouldn't wait till the news tells them something. You should do a little due dilligence about who you are supporting with your patronage. Find out who owns the companies you frequent and then dig around about what else they are involved in. I see it as no different than using google or yahoo and then bitching about how they are helping China in censoring the web. It is just as specious as shopping at Wal-Mart and then ranting about China's policies, 5000 of Wal-Mart's 6000 suppliers are in Mainland China.

People need to wake up and take responsibility for their actions, including who they are bankrolling by their purchases.

Ah yes, Chavez plans to somehow bring America to her knees by cutting off the supply of Venezuelan oil to American, yet he continues to sell more and more. Irony!

A bit of oil and oil-dollars would have made Che Guevara into a vervent capitalist, so why not Chavez? Money has a way of turning the biggest socialist into a lover of fast cars and women..... I still hope it will happen to me too one day !! :)
