On paper it seems to be nearly the same aircraft as the F-16. It's closely matched in ceiling, payload, and speed wit the F-16 having a slight lead in 2/3 categories speed and ceiling ( by no means decisive) but the f-16 has over twice the operational range, meaning it can stay over the target area twice as long and remain further to the rear ( less chance to get overrun by ground forces, or fall victim to a sneak attack) 4,220 km for the F-16 against 1,850 km for the J-10. Of course then you can add external fuel pods to both of them- significantly extending their ranges.

This J-10 aircraft actually was composed of parts from a scrapped project to help Israel develop a lower-cost, lower-efficent F-16 known as the LAVI. Israel sold the LAVI and a stripped F-16 for exchange for money. The J-10 like Britney said is quite similar to the F-16 and its avionics actually surpass that of the Sukhoi specifically the J-11 or Sukhoi-27K and it is also comparable to the Eurofighter-2000 and the French Rafale. Though I believe there have been reported engine problems which the J-10 uses a AL-31FN Turbofans so the engine could possibly be similar to practically all SUKHOIs starting from the SU-27 forward.
