I could care less how the civilian populous lives. It's the military development I watch with a catious eye.

But nice locals, just the same.

This one though:

its an aerial photo of a housing development just finiished outside shanghai, which has no traffic cuz its a day before it is being sold

well, the military serves the civilian, economy serves teh civilians

remember, this thread is not al lmilitary, it is political, and on that basis we discuss subjects like development

It just seemed eerie that no cars were to be found... that explains it, though.

Of course you can link economy to danger, but I'd rather cut it at the military and leadership doorstep.

Anywho! Comment about it... well, good for the Chinese civilians, ya know. So yay.

Well, it seems that China is moving towards a one-party capitalist system and that apears to be advantageous.

However, the economy still appears to be quite a ways away from being able to best America's according to how the two nations budget their military.

China's 45 Billion a year vs. America's 450 billion a year.

i have one comment regarding motor vehicles. the polution from the general populace having the ability to own a car would be astronomical and i hope the PRC's Govt understands this.

if (as many of our chinese members have stated) china has the tech to build ICBM's and send a man into space, how bout they throw their collective brain power behind finding an alternative power source to replace internal combustion....now THAT would impress me!

The man who can create an alternate power source to replace gasoline and such will be so rich he could F*ing buy small countries, whether he be American, Chinese, or New Zelander.
