I am a former news journalist and history teacher living in Cincinnati. Although I was unable to serve my country, I am very interested in military history, particularly World War I. I am specifically interested the Ypres sector, especially the Battle of Messines. I believe it to be one of the greatest feats of combat engineering in history.

Bad French

Unfortunately, Cne C, my French is about as good as my Chinese. I studied French, German and Spanish, but the French and German have slipped away. My Spanish is still pretty decent because about 20% of Americans are Spanish-speaking now. And not too long ago, I went on a speaking tour in Peru, and had to field questions in Spanish. That will make one fluent. Rapidly.
