Chavez gets new Russian rifles

CARACAS, Venezuela (Reuters) - Venezuela received a shipment of 30,000 new Russian rifles on Saturday, weeks after Washington restricted U.S. arms sales to Caracas over concerns about President Hugo Chavez's ties to Cuba and Iran.

Russia selling arms to nations that are against AMerica is nothing new.

Though I don't like the idea of Russia selling arms to my enemies. It's simple business.



Venezuela isn't going to buy arms from the USA. So either Russia or Red China and step in the sell them arms. And strangely, I'd rather have Russia sell Venezuela arms than Red China.

Honestly, what does it matter who sells them. It's a global market so he'll get them one way or another. Realistically, if he was pro-US he would no-doubt be receiving shipments of M-16s, but since he's not, it opens his market to other arms market dominant players.
