My father in law was with the 18th Brigade in Tobruk for almost all of the Siege.

He was attached to the Polish unit to assist in the transition and was with a bunch listening to the BBC.

BBC related a major battle on the Russian front and said something like ""10,000 Germans killed" and the Poles cheered wildly. Then the BBC said that "15,000 Russians killed" and they cheered even more.
