Gentlemen

New arrival, now retired and living in Toronto.

My interests are WW 1 CEF and WW2 Canadian Army.

I'v'e been reading military history for about 50 years now.

My screen name refers to the 48th Highlanders of Canada, a Canadian Forces infantry battalion serving Canada since 1891, and the only Highland kilted Regiment in the Toronto garrison. The 48th's active service history goes back to the Boer War 1899, the Great War 1914 to 1918, The Second World War 1939 to 1945, Korea 1950 to 1953, Cyprus, Bosnia, and up to the present day in Afghanistan.

If you have any questions about the military role of Canadians in a particular time period , ask me here. Thanks .

Jim B. Toronto.
