I found this at an estate sale and think it is military. attached is a picture. if anyone out there knows what it is please drop me a line. The grip has a trigger on it for maybe flashing a distress signal. The bulb is an old GE Mazda bulb. They do not make the Mazda bulb anymore. I cant find anything on the net looking like this lamp. It does have a sight on top. Thank for your help :)

Take a look at these pictures. It's similar. They are navy signal lamps. Used a long cord to plug into the power source.

Above and below: 4 inch Aldis lantern, pattern S5110E. Made by Sutton-Horsley Co. Ltd, of Toronto Ontario. This one was last used on HMCS Labrador. Since there was no battery compartment in the carrying case and the lamp has a long power cord, it is believed it was powered from the ship's low voltage power mains. Five inch Aldis lamps produce 150,000 candlepower. (Photo by Jerry Proc) (courtesy http://www.jproc.ca/rrp/rrp2/visual_lights.html)
