A Romanian man was indicted in Los Angeles on charges of hacking into more than 150 government computers, causing disruptions that cost NASA, the Energy Department and the Navy nearly $1.5 million. The federal indictment charges the man, Victor Faur, 26, of Arad, Romania, with nine counts of computer intrusion and one count of conspiracy. He faces up to 54 years in prison, said Thom Mrozek, spokesman for the United States attorney’s office. The compromised computers were used to collect, store and analyze scientific data and to evaluate new technologies. The machines were located at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena; the Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, Md.; the Sandia National Laboratories in Albuquerque; and the Naval Observatory in Washington.

What really pisses me off is not that the guy was cought ans sentenced to 54 years in prison. What pisses me off is that murders and child rapist get off easier than that.
