I seem to remember a German Panzer regiment that was stationed in Wales in the UK a few years ago.

October 16, 2004

THIRTY-FIVE years of history came to an end yesterday as the German Army bade its official farewell to Wales.
For one last time the Panzers fired their Leopard tank guns at Castlemartin firing range in front of a VIP audience, including top-ranking British and German Army officers.

We already have a big shortage of Officers (and soldiers) who speak french, this will intensify that problem i think. Other than that it's a good thing I guess.
But really the french should stop honoring Napoleon- after all he was a Dictator, I guess every french guy likes him because he's the only one in french history who had some victories against the Germans ;) (just teasing)

Correction, He was a autocrat not a dictator. His rule (Code Napoleon) was very enlightened compared to the other Kings and Emporers of Europe.

a) I guess a lot of ppl would disagree.

b) not for Germany...

But that's not what this thread is about is it, so back to topic... we may open a thread about Napoleon (if it doesn't already exist). I did write you a little pm though ;).

I found this rather amusing article:-

Fact: Hitler and Napoleon both had only one testicle.

What I Took From This: Some men need little tiny red sports cars, and busty blond 19-year-old girls to show that they still measure up...while others need to take over Europe.

We all agree that Hitler was a dictator?

Few individuals have had more impact on history than Adolf Hitler and Napoleon Bonaparte. These two historical figures have managed to stamp their names in the pages of history for their successful military tactics and their infamous actions such as mass murders, holocaust, pestilence and many more. Even though they were born in two diametrically opposite eras, their perspective on things such as indifference towards human lives; shrewdness and resourcefulness; attitudes towards fellow peers at school were very much alike. Even though their process of rise to power was very different, it was unquestionably their great abilities of leadership that helped them to achieve the status as the head of their nations.

It can be traced to Hitler's and Bonaparte's childhood that they started developing traits which would mould them to what they would be in the future. They both shared that arrogant, bossy attitude laying down orders to classmates at school. They would demonstrate exceptional leadership abilities which helped them to be a popular figure among the students.

So by that reasoning Napoleon was a dictator.
