British stiring up sectarian violence in Iraq?

Hi everybody!
A few days ago I've seen a documentary about the Iraq war. The reporter claimed that lately two British special forces soldiers were picked up firing at civilians while driving in a car. They were disguised as Arabs. Those two were picked up by the Iraqi police, in Basra I think. And after the governor of Basra refused to give them out British troops used brute force to get them back.
Does anybody have any information about this incident?

This all happened a few years back when some SAS people where grabbed bu the Iraq Police then handed over to one of Factions over there. The SAS do not go around shooting at people unless they come under fire, as there work is mainly covert, they dress as Arabs and speak the local language and blend in with the back ground to gather intelligence
 
my understanding of this incident that while some SAS troopers were detained by the iraqi police....it wasn't because the were firing on civilians...more that they were acting suspiciously.

the brits used warrior IFV to break them out when they got word that the troopers may be handed over to a militia group

It amazes me the audacity in which a blatantly liberal media of civilians thinks, and reports on, undercover operations with a zeal for zinging military actions.

The pattern you'll notice in those links is that everyone was calling the SAS soldiers terrorists sent to purposely extend the war by keeping strife alive. The media crucified them, the British government, and accused America of both knowing about it and even encouraging it.

But then, in the last link, the truth of the operation's intent is released by the British SAS, and guess what? TRY and find a retraction offered by the media after that. Hint: You won't. This was huge news in the anti-war circles for a week, then it just disappeared when they were proven wrong - right off the radar. Of note is the lack of reporting on these criminal police officers torturing Iraqi people with electric drills and all sorts of other nasty things. The SAS was undercover to out these crooked officers, but when the media was given that story, there was no week-long outrage, hardly any mention at all.

Their collective volume against the SAS soldiers was followed by absolute silence at the truth. How sad is that? No bias there - move along, move along.
