I dont know if we know how to interpret this. This is our eventual goal in Iraq, move from direct intervention to overwatch mode. Yet somehow this is deemed as a bad thing. The soldiers did not abandon the city to hoardes of terrorists, it sounds as if it was a transition from Coalition to local police and military forces.
Please note how the announcement of British troop movements is followed by comment on an American soldier's death. Sound like a spin?
Also note, the troops are not leaving the box, but are staying at a larger base. But I do not know, perhaps someone within the British military with first hand knowledge could comment.
