Staff Report DAYTONA BEACH -- An 18-year-old Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University student collapsed and died after an ROTC drill exercise about 7:40 p.m. Monday, police said.
Joshua Potts, a first year student from Campti, La., was studying computer engineering and a member of Air Force ROTC, said Jim Hampton , a university spokesman.
Potts was jogging on campus when he complained of congestion and trouble breathing. He slowed to walk and fell near the ROTC building. Witnesses told police he was blue in the face.
Cardiopulmonary resuscitation was started before Potts was taken to the Halifax Heath Medical Center, where he was declared dead about 8:30 p.m. The medical examiner's office will perform an autopsy
