Bought another wheel gun.... went a different route.

I just got myself a very nice conditioned Pietta reproduction of a Colt 1862 Pocket Police in .36 Caliber.

Never owned a black powder before. Paid $75 for it. Timing is good along with the bore. No rust what so ever.... previous owner treated it very well. Used it in Cowboy Action Shoots for a while to the point that the blueing has worn off. Looks nicer in my opinion. Gives it a nice antique look. Only thing I need to do is age that brass..... It needs to be darker and less shiny.

The originals had frames made of iron or a type of bronze known as "gun metal". The brass frame repros have a rep for getting the cylinders "out of time" if a lot of live firing is done.

black powder firearms

That's a beautiful looking pistol... :) Speaking of reproduction weapons, the shooting association i belong to had a nice piece on a Sharps rifle being manufactured by an Italian company that specialises in black powder firearms..

Huge catalogue http://www.marstar.ca/gf-armisport/index.shtm

A friend of mine that I used to shoot with had a .44 Dragoon revolver, (sounded like a cannon going off)..... everyone at the range wanted to have a go..... :D
