A couple of other versions of this one has been posted before.

So here you have a couple of new ones... :D
(not much difference in the first one...)

Blood Upon the Risers 1
Sung to the tune of " The Battle Hymn of the Republic"

He was just a cherry trooper and he surely shook with fright
as he checked all his equipment and made sure his pack was tight
He had to sit and listen to the awful engines roar,
And he ain't gonna jump no more.
REFRENG:
Gory, Gory, What a helluva way to die
Gory, Gory, What a helluva way to die
Gory, Gory, What a helluva way to die
He ain’t gonna jump no more.

“Is everybody happy?” cried the Sergeant, looking up.
Our hero feebly answered “yes,” and then they stood him up.
He leaped right out into the blast, his static line unhooked.
He ain’t gonna jump no more.
REFRENG:

He counted long, he counted loud, he waited for the shock;
He felt the wind, he felt the clouds, he felt the awful drop;
He jerked his cord, the silk spilled out and wrapped around his legs.
He ain’t gonna jump no more.
REFRENG:

The risers wrapped around his neck, connectors cracked his dome;
The lines were snarled and tied in knots, around his skinny bones;
The canopy became his shroud, he hurtled to the ground.
He ain’t gonna jump no more.
REFRENG:

The days he’d lived and loved and laughed kept running through his mind;
He thought about the girl back home, the one he’d left behind;
He thought about the medics and wondered what they’ed find.
He ain’t gonna jump no more.
REFRENG:

The ambulance was on the spot, the jeeps were running wild;
The medics jumped and screamed with glee, they rolled their sleeves and smiled;
For it had been a week or more since last a chute had failed.
He ain’t gonna jump no more.
REFRENG:

He hit the ground, the sound was splat, his blood went spurting high;
His comrades were then heard to say, “A helluve way to die”;
He lay there rolling ‘round in the welter of his gore.
He ain’t gonna jump no more.
REFRENG:

There was blood upon the risers, there were brains upon the chute;
Intestines were a-dangling from this paratrooper’s boots;
They picked him up, still in his chute and poured him from his boots.
He ain’t gonna jump no more.
REFRENG:

Blood Upon the Risers 2

Also sung to the tune of "Battle Hymn of the Republic"

First jumper on the wingstrut called the spotter as he looked
Our hero now was fearless for he'd read Russ Gunby's book
He jumped right out into the blast, his static line unhooked
He ain't going to jump no more.

Refreng:

Gory, Gory, what a helluva way to die,
Gory, gory, what a helluva way to die
Gory, gory what a helluva way to die
He ain't going to jump no more.

He counted long, he counted loud, six thousand was his goal
He tumbled out of stable and began a forward roll
He spun out flat, began to dive and went out of control
He ain't gonna jump no more.

Refreng (over)

The risers wrapped around his neck, connectors cracked his dome
The lines were snarled and tied in knots around his skinny bones
The canopy became his shroud, he hurtled to the ground
He ain't gonna jump no more.

Refreng (over)

He pulled the handle on his reserve and threw it far away
He tried to grab the skirt, but all his thumbs got in the way
He threw it out all full of holes and then began to pray
He ain't gonna jump no more.

Refreng (over)

The days he'd lived and loved and laughed kept running through his mind
He thought about the girl below, the one he'd left behind
He thought about the medico's and wondered what they'd find
He ain't gonna jump no more.

Refreng (over)

The ambulance was on the spot, its mighty siren wailed
The medics rolled their sleeves and smiled as through the air he sailed
For it had been a week or more since last a chute had failed
He ain't gonna jump no more.

Refreng (over)

The drop zone coming fast, a hundred miles or more
"I get his helmet and his boots," he heard a buddy roar
He bounced around the runway in the welter of his gore
He ain't gonna jump no more.

Refreng (over)

His pelvis crashed into his chest, his ribs poked through his side
His helmet bounced a hundred feet, his head was still inside
The ground crew stood there laughing as he rolled around and died
He ain't gonna jump no more.

i know that song! one of my relatives who served in th 4th brigade combat team, 1st battalion 508 parachute infantry regiment ,82nd airborne division during the second world war taught me that before he passed away

the only diference is the final chorus in his it was

they placed him in a blanket then they laid his soul to rest
they notified his next of kin his funeral was the best
and on his monument of stone they scribed this little verse

gory gory what a hell of a way to die
gory gory what a hell of a way to die
gory gory what a hell of a way to die
and he aint gonna jump no more

itw was sung by the 82nd airborne,101st airborne,173rd airborne brigade,4th brigade combat team and the 25th infantry division

Now the letter they sent home, to his wife and baby son.
Madam we regret to say, your troopers life is done.
But hold your head up high, his name is written in the sky!

He ain't gonna jump no more!
-Chorus-

The baby son grew up and said, "A troopers life for me!'
A jumper like my daddy was, is all I want to be.
I only hope that I can jump just half as well as he!

He ain't gonna jump no more!
-Chorus-

They sent him to Afghanistan and then into Iraq!
The bullet then came speeding up, and deep into his back.
He hit the ground but his grenade found enemy on track!

He ain't gonna jump no more!
-Chorus-

It hurt to lose the life of both her husband and her son.
but she was very proud they were both in the 101.
She looked into the sky, and then they heard her cry!

He ain't gonna jump no more!
-Chorus-
