Happy Belated New Year!
Long Time No Post
Well I've been real REAL busy lately. We had this massive training thing over two days with four different engagements, not to mention some smaller situations too and the highlight of the two days for me at least was when I managed to wipe out a squad of the enemy all by myself. Oh yeah, it's possible and I actually friggin' did it.
Then the boiler broke down and another round of hell started for me. Oh yeah, I'm not just the reject who sits in the boiler room. I go outside decked out in greens pointing my standard issue pecker (K-2 assault rifle) at stuff, drag my heavy pack on long marches, maintain the weapons in the company and also fix the damn boiler. And when school starts up again in March, I also go teach English. They should give me a raise. Actually they did... and promoted me. I can't complain. Sucks. I actually got a 7 day special leave from the Brigade HQ but it got cut by the Battallion CO for that incident where I beat up the other guy. Sucks.
I don't have a lot of time right now but guess what??? I go on leave FINALLY on the 23rd of January so no doubt I'll be up not drinking and posting some nice little stories for you folks out there.
HAPPY NEW YEAR people! I'm now Sergeant and I'm finally seeing the end of my running contract which is on June 6th (oooh it's the same day as D-day... big whoop) so I'll be deciding where I go from here. I'll get out for a while at least because it's forbidden for servicemen here to go abroad so I'll go out at the end of my contract, visit friends in the US and stuff... then contemplate where I go from there. Do I go to NCO school to have a shot at making Staff Sergeant? Do I go to OCS and have a shot at making Lieutenant (the problem with the RoKMC is that if you take this route, your career ends at Captain and when you are 40 years old and still Captain and decide to retire, they will pin you your Major rank tags before they spit you out). Or do I just leave and **** off out of the Marines for good? Take over dad's company? Go back to school? NO!!!! I hate school.
Bringing America Over Here
I've been bringing bits of America over here... I've been ordering **** off Amazon.com to give me some friggin' reading material and also got some CDs and stuff... mostly to block out Ahn Byung-oh's snoring. Oh there's an update on that little **** a little later on in this post. Also I'm on a weekend pass right now and I'm going to grab a ****ing pizza with some beer to help my digestive system. People often forget that I'm currently serving in a foreign Marine Corps, speaking a foreign language (Korean) and eating disgusting foreign food (Korean food). Actually the food's okay but believe me dude, after almost 2 years, you WILL think of the subway sandwich. You WILL think about Au Bon Pain. You WILL KILL A HUNDRED PEOPLE for that lemon lime Gatorade. Damn I miss the friggin' Gatorade. Oh yeah, you guys reading this **** think I'm nuts? YOU try doing this ****. But I still love the job. I just need food from the western hemisphere over here from time to time. And reading material. And contact with white people. And black people. And latino people. And Eskimos. Though I've never actually met an Eskimo before. I guess it's about time.
Over 1000 Views
Something I really never counted on. It's the new year, I check my blog control panel thing and what do you know? My blog has managed to clock 1048 views. Which is amazing. I'm assuming no one really reads this **** but they're actually stopping by to have a look.
Ahn Byung-oh (And Other Sad Excuses for Marines)
Okay this is the worst Marine I've ever met. He is the junior armorer/NBC defense specialist who works under me. Here is a list of reasons why I want to skin this little **** alive and then dip what's left of him in acid.
1) He snores like hell at night.
2) He is one unfit mother ****er. He has a 2nd Dan black belt for Tae Kwon Do he claims he got in high school but I saw him do TKD during our company TKD trials and the guy ****ing sucks. I was still nursing a double knee injury at the time and I could still kick WAAAAAAYYYY better and also ****ing kick his ass anyway. Also can't run to save his life. Fat.
3) Lazy. Never works. Just smokes in the company armory. And eats stuff leaving crumbs everywhere.
4) Got kicked out of the regular line platoon... and ended up in HQ platoon. It's one of the previous Company Sergeant's stupid genius ideas of sending idiots who can't adjust in their platoons to HQ platoon and expecting disaster to not happen.
5) Zero discipline.
6) Lies. Takes advantage of the fact that I can't kick his ass (without jail time), refuse a weekend pass, reward him in any way etc. and lies to my face about work. I know he's lying but he chances it anyway because if I buy it, it's good for him. If I catch him, then well... that's it.
But the Marine Corps now tolerates little shits like him and in fact, a Gunny actually likes the guy and gives me no end of **** whatnot while I'M the one working and this is the guy ****ing everything up. Excellent motivator isn't it? Go give **** and chew out and cut the sleep time of the guy who works, reward and praise lazy **** who never works. I told the Company Sergeant about this and since then he's been off my case.
AND. During our 2 days training we had I mentioned above this mother ****er got himself injured. But this might be a good thing. No more snoring. No more ******* lying to me and me having to go back and undo all the damages. RoKMC isn't going to last long tolerating idiots like him. The funny thing is how it actually defends and rewards those who cannot or will not adjust.
Listen. When I joined up, I couldn't even ****ing speak Korean right, I couldn't even eat the food... when I did I'd get the shits right away and I'd be sitting on the toilet squirting yellow **** water all day. I'd get my ass kicked or chewed out and I wouldn't know what the **** was going on. But I adjusted. I'm the best NBC defense specialist outside the NBC Support Company in the whole ****ing brigade. It's ****ing doable. But by defending these reject mother ****ers we now have more and more of these. In the past they were extremely rare cases. Now it's common sight. They say it's got something to do with a newer, friendlier Marine Corps... a new Marine Corps culture but me being one of the last of the old school think it's complete crap.
More on this stuff during leave. My time's about running out here

Anyways I hope all readers of my blog had a good new year's day and hope the rest of your 2007 will also go well.
More stories to follow when I go on leave.
p.s. I found an error in several field manuals and found the correct answer to them (it's all the same answer) and maybe, just MAYBE they'll give me a special leave or something. The Army does give special leaves for people who discover errors in the manuals... don't know about the Marines though. We're mother ****ers by nature. Surely some ******* Gunnery Sergeant at TRADOC (Training and Doctrine) will take credit and I'll be rewarded with a good, firm slap on the behind.
