Soldiers are pacifists because they know war and want to protect their mates! Therefore they know how to site a machine to protect a platoon or company position to protect their mates.

Secco says to the section, "draw fire"= DIE! (probably) to save the section pinned in the fire lane, whilst 3rd section "hooks in" on the enemy,,,
