For you gamers, EA/DICE just announced the Battlefield 3 is set for release Fall 2011 (barring delays, which you can count on).
More Details will be released at the end of February, but this is what I can confirm:
1. Like BF2, will focus on Present day warfare. The warring factions are not yet disclosed, though previous UNCONFIRMED rumors say it will be US/China.
2. Will use Frostbite 2 engine, an improved version of Frostbite that is currently powering Battlefield Bad Company 2.
3. Both Jet Aircraft and firing from prone positions will return. They were both removed in BFBC2. (I just hope DICE fixes the overpowering nature of Jets and the dolphin-diving cheating that plagued BF2).
4. The PC version will support 64 Players, Console versions will support 24. (Hint this is the excuse to tell the wife you want to buy a new PC. Playing 32 vs 32 is a much better experiance).
