this reminds me of a hotel that i stayed at one night this summer. it was up in Jamestown, RI (right by Newport) and it had been someones house across the river, but they wanted it moved, and it was put on a barge and sent across the water. but this was in 1889, so it was really major then. The Bay Voyage Hotel had been built in 1860 and was 2-1/2 stories high.
