BAGHDAD, Aug 12, 2006 (AFP) - A car bomb detonated Saturday as night fell in
Baghdad, killing five civilians and injuring 10 more, an interior ministry
official told AFP.

The explosion erupted by the roadside in the Al-Shurta district on the
southern side of the Iraqi capital.

Iraqi and US security forces have launched a massive operation to pacify
Baghdad district by district, but violence by insurgent gangs and sectarian
death squads continues.
