CANBERRA, Australia_Australia will boost its military force in Iraq by an
extra 38 troops and four Bushmaster troop carrying vehicles, the Australian
defense minister said Monday.
Defense Minister Brendan Nelson announced the extra troops in Canberra after
returning from visiting Australian troops in Iraq and Afghanistan from Aug.
28 to Sept. 2.
Australia has more than 1,300 troops in the Middle East, about half of them
in Iraq.
