AFP - Australia's tough immigration laws are once again under the spotlight with the government deporting a schoolboy and long-time resident to Thailand because his father's bid for permanent residency had failed.

Well the father isn't eligible for a visa, and the boy is his dependent, and not old enough to apply for his own residency visa, so end of story... he's gotta go.
