The following photos are of Australian soldiers on operations, and related images. Australian troops are currently deployed to Iraq, Afghanistan, Sudan, Sinai, Lebanon, East Timor, The Solomon Islands, awaiting deployment off the coast of Fiji, on Operations in Northern Australia and in Tonga.

Sergeant from the SAS being presented with his Medal for Gallantry by His Excellency Major General Michael Jeffrey, AC, CVO, MC, Governor General of the Commonwealth of Australia (also an Ex-SAS soldier himself, as indicated by him still wearing his Sand Beret). The Sgt, who will remain unidentified until he leaves the SAS was awarded the medal for actions in Afghanistan, in the biggest Australian firefight since the Vietnam war. The MG is one level below the VC in Australian medal terms.
