The Army is challenging the Government Accountability Office's support of a protest filed by L-3 Communications over a $4.65 billion contract for translation services in Iraq and Afghanistan. L-3 filed the complaint Dec. 22 after the deal was awarded to Global Linguistics Solutions, a joint venture of DynCorp International of Falls Church and McNeil Technologies. The GAO found that the Army did not "reasonably apply" the evaluation factors in the bid. The Army is asking the GAO to reverse its March 29 decision and maintain the current contract.
