Have a look at a set of US Army medals prior to WWII.

I have ordered a new display case and will have to make a new liner. I have replaced some ribbons with period correct ribbon but may not be able to replace all the weak ribbon. The WWI Victory medal has all 19 campaign bars on it. Set has the only authorized US Civil War medal in it.

the picture is WAY to bright. try taking pictures of each of the medals. that way we can tell better

Nice, but I would consider individually displaying the top 3, alot of people do that.

It might be nice to display individually but this is already a display owned by a VFW Post. The complete display has all Army Medals prior to WWII. Also has old VFW, American Legion, Spanish American, and GAR medals. I am trying to restore it. This is a "For display porposes only set". the medals issued by the government back in the late thirties.

I have found that light is very damaging to the ribbons.(not just sunlight). Museums are not allowing flash photography because of this. It is probably why for old British medal collecting, the condition of ribbons is not a large consideration for value.

It is now possible to use UV protective glass for documents, paintings, medal displays and whatever. You can buy at frame stores.

I have had little luck in obtaining authentic or quality replacement ribbon.

I see that the medal dead center of the picture is the Medal of Honor (old style).
