Topic: Army Diver

I was wondering about being an army diver. I have heard that there arent many slots open, so it is pretty competitive. I was wondering where they train and just how competitive it is. Anyone have any info or experience with this?

4 years active duty and I had no idea the Army even HAD divers. What the hell do we need divers for? The Army doesn't even own a boat.

You sure you're not thinking Navy, bro?

I believe they train with Special Forces in Florida. And yes we do need divers, but it is a very small community.

Au contraire...it has its own fleet of logistics supply vessels, skippered by chief warrant officers. Visit here to see pictures of SMA Preston visiting the SP/4 James A. Loux, and here to get general info on the LSVs.

Back on topic: whatever Major TI says.

I stand corrected.

Like I said, I didn't know we had them. But I did say that we don't even own a boat. My bad, and my apologies.

Carry on.

Positive. I think its mos 21d or something. I talked to a few recruiters on the goarmy website and they said it is one of the toughest courses because there are so few slots available for it.
