Topic: Armed Forces of the Pridnestrovian Moldovan RepublicIt is very militaristic and the government of President Igor Smirnov constantly engages in anti-Romanian propaganda. Most of his army's weapons came from the 14th Army's warehouses which Russia, so conveniently, 'forgot', when most of our forces left the region. Moldovan-Romanian is, on paper, one of the three official languages of PMR (along with Russian and Ukrainian), but last Romanian-language school was close years ago, as was last newspaper printed in that language. Mobile communications station ![]() Training ![]() More: 'For native Bеndery' (city in Pridnestrovie) ![]() ![]() Cossacks lol ![]() Thousands of them moved there from Russia and East Ukraine over the years to settle and 'defend Slavic land'. Not officially part of PMR army, but Smirnov can call on them when he needs them. Yeah... So, these guys are pretty rag tag. Оld Soviet equipment, little discipline. But, it gives them an advantage too, over the Romanians: unpredictability. Plus, they know gurrela warfare. Russian specnaz guys who fought in Chechnya go to Pridnestrovie to train their forces. |
