Another example of hypocritical Europe.

Europehas an extremely horrible past when it comes to the Jews. Even prior to Hitler they had long been the whipping boys of all European peoples (...)

The Norwegian constituion of 1814 cleary said Jews were not allowed in the country. That part of the constituion was later removed, I am not sure of when.

Hate crimes and neo-nazi groups are common still across the continent.

Not just neo-nazi groups but extreme left ving groups and anarchists were a "common society problem" from around 1975 until 1995 in Scandinavian countries, England and Germany. The perhaps most infamous groups were Blitz (anarchists, communists) and BootBoys (neo-nazi), what these people do now am I not sure of as the Police Security Service gave these people a hard time from 1995 and onwards. There are some groups and organizations left but they are less active now.

There is a double standard when it comes to Europeans and their treatment of Israel.

there is ample evidence that the background for the 'accords' was based on deliberately false submitted evidence and by doubous scientists that are extremely left-wing....basically it was a well thoughtout lie to get grant money and punish the Western powers FIRST....especially the US and the UK....

this has been a issue now for some time that is mostly made up as far as I can tell.....

Cheers SunB- most enlightening links.

Ted, when I say "all European peoples" with the S on PEOPLE it means the different races if you will not all the individual people. In short, the maltreatment of jews in Europe is not limited to any one country or group of people- ALL have mud on their hands.

Okay Bulldogg, let put this one under "misunderstanding due to second language malfunction" alright?

I only think this would be hypocritical of Europe if they were producing more and more carbon emissions while making no effort to curb their current output. Almost all nations are attemptiont to lower their emissions of greenhouse gases, including the US, independently of the Kyoto Accords. Which is another reason that I don't like the Kyoto Accords, it doesn't do anything that is not being done already.

And the whole "Developing Nation" status for China.

As well as the "quota" system. Seems to me like that would almost encourage countries to use up their allotment as fast as possible so they can use up their neighbors too.

I can't help but notice that there are more and more hybrids coming out these days in America. Some run on batteries and gas combo, others run on E-85 (85% Ethanol, which is made form corn in America, sugar in Brazil.)

The search for alternative fuel is positive, I do not remember what car manufacturer, it might be Honda, that announced self powered electrical vehicles by using generators on the drive wheels.

Hybrids are getting more popular in Europe as well, especially Toyota Prius, but insane fees and taxes on new cars make people choose a regular gas or diesel vehicle until the prices becomes acceptable.

You nailed it right there, that is the main thing holding back the developement of hybrids, the car manufacturers don't want to retool all their machines to produce the new engines/motors.

Also, I think the Prius was at one point banned from being imported to the US. That's the one that can get like 80mpg, right?

According to the specs from the websites of Toyota, the Prius can do 170 km/h so that should be quite correct.

Living in a country with a socialistic left / green gouvernment the people in charge find Hybrid cars a way of making money instead of encouraging people buying them. I cannot find the logic behind such politics.
