Reuters - North Korea appears to be making an orderly transition after the death of leader Kim Jong-il last week, but the risk of collapse is higher than before and regional powers need to start discussing that contingency with China, diplomats and analysts say.

Unlike during the Korean War, I do not think China has the will or even capacity to send in troops if the North becomes too intransigent and tries to invade the South.

With our current administration, I would guess our Joker-in-Chief would order US troops to withdraw from the DMZ and turn it all over to the ROK. And, in my opinion, the ROK would wipe the floor with the North - no matter the number superiority of the latter.
