"Jeffrey loves to travel and loves the adventure of experiencing different cultures and seeing new places," his attorney, Timothy Tepe, of Lebanon, Ohio, said in a statement. North Korea, officially known as the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, said last week in a two-sentence dispatch it had detained an American tourist for violating its laws.
