I've been thinking about joining the army reserves. I'm 100 % sure this is something I want and feel I need to do. I'm anxious about basic but also excited. Any advice?

Do as you are told and don't argue with the drill sergeant even when the orders don't make any sense.

Get in good shape and mainly run as much as you can. Also, study for the test. I'm not sure which test you'll be taking for the reserves but it's best to find out and study so you'll make a good grade.
