The 397th Engineer Battalion's official motto, Essayons Tout De Suite, can be translated from the French as "Execute Swiftly." The motto is especially pertinent considering the unit’s mission on the battlefield; breaching or emplacing obstacles, operations which must be executed swiftly to ensure the success of the supported maneuver unit’s mission.
