3 U.S. soldiers killed in Iraq's Anbar province

BAGHDAD, Iraq_Three U.S. soldiers were killed Wednesday in Iraq's restive
Anbar province, west of Baghdad, the U.S. military said.

The soldiers assigned to 1st Brigade, 1st Armored Division "died from enemy
action," a statement by the military said. It gave no other details.

The deaths raised to at least 2,595, the number of U.S. troops to have died
since the beginning of the Iraq war in March 2003, according to an
Associated Press count. The figure includes seven military civilians. At
least 2,058 died as a result of hostile action, according to the military's
numbers.
