OTTAWA -- Three Canadian soldiers were killed in southern Afghanistan yesterday when their armored vehicle was attacked by militants, a senior military official told reporters. Five more soldiers were injured in the attack, two of them seriously. Brigadier General Denis Thompson said the soldiers were conducting a security patrol, but he gave few details. (Reuters)
