Sen. Brownback, who might be C-in-C come January 20, 2009, reportedly said:

"The United States seems to care more about a peaceful Iraq than the Iraqis do. If that is the case, it is difficult to understand why more U.S. troops would make a difference."

He's certainly right on the first point, I'm beginning to think.

I was talking to an Iraqi friend of mine and he said this plan will work since it is the same plan used during Saddam Hussein to control the city of Baghdad.

And I personally think we should give it time and see if it works in the next few months.

Except that in the meantime you can expect a lot more KIA, we lost 22 additional troops yesterday alone.

Make my words, there will be no peace in Iraq as long as we are there. Remember me saying that after "the next few months".
