BAGHDAD, Iraq_Two U.S. Marines were killed and a U.S. soldier died in a
roadside bomb explosion, while another soldier died of non-combat injuries,
the U.S. military said in a statement on Monday.

The Marines, assigned to Regimental Combat Team 5, were killed Sunday in
Anbar province "as a result of enemy action," the statement said.

A soldier of the 1/34th Brigade Combat Team was killed Monday by a roadside
bomb while conducting a convoy escort mission north of Baghdad, the military
said in a separate statement.

Another soldier, of the 15th Sustainment Brigade, died of non-combat
injuries during the early morning hours of Monday, the military said.

The names of the dead were being withheld until military officials could
contact their families.

More than 2,600 American troops have died in Iraq since the U.S.-led
invasion in March 2003, according to a tally by The Associated Press. At
least 2,100 of that number were killed by hostile action.
