This was a local kid who left three kids and a Wife behind. He was stationed at Ft. Hood. He was a top notch soldier.

Army 2nd Lt. Johnny K. Craver, 37, of McKinney, died Friday in Baghdad when an improvised explosive device detonated near his vehicle.
Craver was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 22nd Infantry Regiment, 1st Brigade, 4th Infantry Division at Fort Hood.
A ranger and ranger instructor, Craver was close to earning a master's degree in business management. He had expected to be home from Iraq in November, family members told the Denton Record-Chronicle.
His mother, Denton County Sheriff's Sgt. Phyllis Broomfield, recalled cheering him on when he competed in the 2005 Best Ranger Competition. When his partner twisted an ankle while going up a steep hill, Craver took the Ranger's rucksack and carried it along with his own, Broomfield said.
Craver leaves behind his wife, Natalie, and three children, Savannah, 12, Caelen, 8, and Emma, 3.
He walked his mother down the aisle last year when she married Dugan Broomfield, an investigator for the Denton County District Attorney's Office.
"Show me a perfect son _ that was Johnny," his mother told the newspaper. "Every Mother's Day and every birthday he would call me, no matter where he was in the world."
