I can imagine how cramped the inside must be! Glad I was a U.S. tanker.

I'm 187cm and I could barely get inside the commanders and gunners seats, so it isn't much room inside... They didn't recommend/have tank crew over 170-175cm..
But lower height of a tank means that it's a more difficult target to hit, so it should be (relatively) easy to find cover for this one.

A smaller tank is probably harder to hit, but I wonder if the cramped fighting compartment hampers the crew's ability to "fight the tank" effectively. Hhmm, sounds like a good forum topic. Anyway, nice pics Redleg! I wish I could have seen that show where you took all those pics.

They did actually have a max height for tank crew to prevent space problems.
I don't remember what it was right now, but I believe the max height was around 170cm.
And I didn't take those pics at a show by the way.
I took them during the NATO exercise Cooperative Adventure Excange 2002 in Ukraine.
Lots of interesting former Soviet/Russian vehicles there, and one of the most interesting experiences was "test driving" the BMP-2..
