Are there NO career soldiers Sherman? If this is true what is the NCO corps comprised of?

there are very, very, very few combat active NCOs....mostly in SOF units...the rest of NCOs are paper pushers....The real proffesional soldiers are the combat officers...

As I see it, the Israelis have an advantage is that their conscription applies to all males of a certain age similar in many ways to the system of the Swiss. Young men and women grow up knowing that they will be called to serve, and that the civil population see this as an honourable thing to do.

I can't speak for other countries, but here in Australia there are many persons who use up the system but are neither willing to defend it nor support those who do.

if only all israelis were as convinced as you...


either way, this is horribly off toppic and has no real reason to exist....
