The main reason that the DOD but the XM8 on the back burner is because the Army wanted other comapnies to enter in their products. At first it was just H&K. Now it's everyone.

look closely at the magazine and ull see white balls inside. If you can't see it, then i recommend that you wear glasses.

Few this I'dlike to point out.

(1) The XM8 isn't green, it's Khaki colored.

(2) That German soldier is wearing Nomex.

(3) This is the XM8 conversion kit for the Marui G36C an airsoft rifle. If you look over it very carefully you will aee that it is the same rifle in the other picture.

In one thing i agree with 5.56:
Nothing is soldierproof, and i think also they will break. So it must have at least some backup iron sights!!!
Thats also the only thing i hate at the G36!!!

No actually they had guys in Iraq with the OD XM8, I don't know how they got it, but remember they were in field tests, it was a SOF operator, and he was later killed in Iraq.
