A very easy one this time.

Name the unit commander of the first Allied air attack on Dresden

Was it Arthur "Bomber" Harris?

Patton wasn't a pilot. He was a soldier and command the 3rd Army and rescued the trap 101st Airborne that were encircled by the germans during Battle of the Bulge.

My first guess would be Sir Raplh Cochrane, who was in charge of No. 5 Group of the RAF. They were specialised in the bombing of difficult targets, such as the Tirpitz and the dam in the Ruhr.

No.

I think I need to make my question clearer.

I'm not looking for the commander of the air force, but the commander/ pilot leading the actual unit involved in the attack.

Both Harris and Cochrane were not involved with this attack, in any capacity.

COL. Glendon P. Overing commadned 486th wing which bombed dresden before main attack.
Col. Robert Taylor III commanded the 487th wing which bombed Dresden on same say as 486th

Cormier led a raid on 24/8/1944 on Dresden

Whats wrong with google?

Google didnt give me the answer. It helped but didnt give the answer. I havent got the Dresden book, but was sure it had been attacked, lightly before the major attack in Feb 45.

Correct.
The raid of 24th August 1944 was the first of 4 raids by the USAAF on Dresden and its suburbs.
The second was on the 7th October 1944, the third was on 16th January 1945, and the fourth and last was as part of the 'firestorm' raid of 13th February 1945.
