WW2 military casualties info

Germans lost aproximetly 4 mln.soldiers on battlefields during the war: 3.5 mln. was lost on East Front & 0.5 mln.soldiers died in fight against West Allies.
There is an interesting book about Geman losses written by Rudiger Overmans when he says that germans lost 5.5mln. soldiers
Soviet Union lost 27 mln. people (soldiers + civiliens).Russian says that military losses
were 8.6 mln. soldiers and 18 mln . civiliens ( Now I know why germans lose war on East : thay were fighting with civs ,not with Red Army )
IMHO,I think Soviet war casualties was aprox. 15-16 mln. soldiers (which gives ration 1:4 with Germans).
And US losses. They were 415,000 soldiers. But only 290,000 die in battle. What about the others 125.000 men ??
