There are no combat arms positions open to women in the US Armed forces.

Can´t answer your question any clearer then that.

as you were....one of the closest positions you can get is as a crew chief and hopefully you will get lucky and get on a UH-1. thats in the USMC anyways. im a CH-46 guy but a UH-1 is pretty much the front line of the helo's

You shouldn't worry so much about what unit type you can get into. With today's distributed ops and "no front" warfare, you do have the potential to get all the flash and noise you might think you want.
