Maybe I will stop by if that's fine with you.
My old man has had his own business for the past 20 odd years and yeah it is tough. When I'm out of work I help him out (like now).
My friend I told you about who's got his own business going is also having it real hard so I also help him out whenever I can.
I don't mind manual labor... did a little construction for a short while years and years ago. And the Marines is basically manual labor. One of my additional duties was maintaining the heating system (which was built BADLY) so I know a thing or two about pipes (though I'm no expert). The stupid idiots who designed it had it made so that water would drain UP and the air would be vented out DOWN. So OBVIOUSLY it didn't work so well. Man this is a story onto itself. I actually have a crane license (Austrian) though I'm badly out of practice and I gotta say my experience is very limited. I remember one time we were just back from a FTX and we'd been out a few days and we didn't get much sleep (food, water... the usual) and when we got back around midnight I wanted to crash but I had to stay up all night just to get the damn thing working. Then I had a conversation with one of the Staff Sergeants who was on duty and said, "I love this job," and I meant it.
Having your own business or not doesn't make you any better or worse.
Personally I wouldn't want to unless I worked as a consultant (talk and let the others work hehe).
Either way, don't stick your neck out for me or anything. I really appreciate even an offer of a "maybe."
You are most certainly welcome to stop by! I even have a spare bedroom you're welcome to use to avoid hotel costs. I have my drums set up in it right now, but I have to move them anyway as we're going to make it a spare bedroom for Sabrina's son to crash when he's here (so it may be filled with Batman and Power Ranger posters, LOL).

Hang out for a few days and we'll get some guys over for poker to discuss possible work. Then we hit the hot tub with beers and women friends, LOL. Well, not me anymore, as I'm no longer single, and there is NO WAY I'd let those perverts see my old lady in a swim suit, but the casual atmosphere usually makes everyone totally at ease and one of them offering you work is a very good possibility.

Shooting the **** over Coronas is the best networking available!

BTW, if you do come, I'll introduce you to an AZ freedom known as blowing stuff up in the desert. Heh. Nothing says fun like an AK-47 and Tannerite.

That'll be cool. I'll be very pressed for time though.
I got a lot of things to sort out and I got to get back to helping my old man out as well. No time for rest and relaxation. Plus hiring a foreigner is a little more complicated than 1, 2, 3.
Plus remember, I'm married. I have to behave now.
