Japan- I went once with a group of friends. No where else that I know of can you have a Shinto temple in the same neighborhood as a big corporation.

It is like going from 22nd century to 12th in one block. I loved it there.

The food was great, and IMHO so were the people.

I'll vote for PDR Laos. A great country. Really friendly people, great food. Best of all is that everything is cheap.
